Hello and welcome to my blog. Together Rosie Stocking and I have made a short film called 'Mind Trap' which shows a dramatised look into scizophrenia and the effects it can have on the sufferer. This blog will cover all of the work which has been done from the start of the coursework, where initial ideas were created and research was conducted, till the end, where the final main and ancilary products are shown and evaluated.

Shown below is the second attempt of our photoshoot. Even though the photos are better focused this time the shoot was, once again, unsuccessful. We decided that the photos would be best taken outside and now that the now gloomy weather would help set the right mood and make it easier to photoshop. In These photos, it was also impossible to achieve the idea we wanted so by taking the shoot outside we would have the resources we needed.

This week Rosie and I completed the script for our radio advert and we also recorded it. We decided to stay ture to some of the conventions of a radio advert but we wanted to be mysterious and make the audience ask questions.

The conventions we stayed true to are as followed:

- Keeping it short

- Name the stars of the film to attract an audience

- Include all of the needed information e.g. certificate, date of release etc

In our production meeting we brainstormed points we should stay aware of to make an effective advert:

Out of all the tasks we need to complete for this coursework we found the radio advert to be the least problematic. It was the least problematic as we had all of the equipment we needed and we were able to reuse the voice recordings we did for the film.

The script is shown below:

On 3rd November we went out to try and take photo's for out poster. Before we went out to shoot we brainstormed ideas:

Due to lack of experience concerning the SLR camera we were using the photos didn't turn out as planned. As well as this after the shoot we thought of better ideas for the poster and therefore the photos were scrapped.
The photos we took are shown below:

All of these pictures are unedited, which is why they are so bright. We were, if the photos worked how they wanted, going to edit the photos to make them darker and more shadowed as out brainstorn suggests.

3rd November

Over half term we managed to film everything we needed for our short film. However, when we got back to school and rewatched the clips we realised that many shots needed to be refilmed. As well as this we felt that we needed to film more content (Lucy running, extra angles etc) to ease worries of not having enough footage and to make the overall resulting film flow better. We have arranged a 3rd day of filming and arranged everything we need with the actor playing Lucas and made sure that he will be wearing the same clothes. As well as reshooting shots we have decided that we are ready to take photos for our poster so we have borrowed a flip camera, tripod and SLR camera from the school. We made sure we could use a SLR camera as even though Rosie's digital camera is high quality we had issues with it last years coursework as the pictures were not properly supported by adobe programmes
