Hello and welcome to my blog. Together Rosie Stocking and I have made a short film called 'Mind Trap' which shows a dramatised look into scizophrenia and the effects it can have on the sufferer. This blog will cover all of the work which has been done from the start of the coursework, where initial ideas were created and research was conducted, till the end, where the final main and ancilary products are shown and evaluated.

23rd February 2011

Since finishing our poster on the 15th December we have shown it to multiple people, from a range of different age groups, to see how we can improve it and most people seemed to address the same issue, this being the text. Most of the people we asked felt that the title didn't stand out enough as it was the same font at the rest of the text and, upon having this pointed out to us, we were quick to agree. Therefore we edited the poster to create the final product which is shown below:

As you can see, the title on this version of the post is more eye catching compared to the previous version of the poster. Also we felt that this font was better as it looked more less relaxed, instead reflecting the jumbled confusion and fear that our main character is shown to be feeling in the film.

This week we completed the first edit of our film which can be seen below:

We are, currently, proud with what we have developed and are intending to get some feedback from our class, who all fit into our target audience, within the next couple of weeks so we can improve and change what we have according to their opinions.

We dedicated a day of this week to finding music for the credits of our film. We were quick to decide that we wanted an acoustic track, this being because of the range of emotions and sounds the instrument can produce and so looked exclusively for acoustic tracks. We eventually found the song shown below and, as it was vert cheap on Itunes, we were quick to buy it. We won't be using the whole song as it is too long and also due to the fact that parts of the song wouldn't suit the theme of our film. The song is shown below:

2nd February 2011

We have nearly finished our first edit and so have completed many of the things on our to do list from 12th January. A new list is shown below with what we have left to do: - Completely finish first edit - Make Roxanne’s voice sound like a phone call (experiment with sound FX on FCP) - Reasearch into what is put into credits - Find music for end credits (copyrighting is an issue) - Dub a phone ringing over Lucy's ringtone? - Sort out sound (delete sound where we don’t need it, make sure sound is in sync with footage) - Export and audience feedback (film audience feedback) We have completed most of the things on our list from 12 January. We still need to do the end credits (which we plan to do after we have finished the film so we can determine how long/short they need to be in accordance with how long our actual film is) and export the file, but this cannot be done until we are finished.
